1. Nutrition I can't stress this enough. Nutrition is the building block of fitness success. It is number one, far and above all else. Many people come to me wondering why they aren’t seeing results. They claim to eat “clean” or they have eliminated everything under the sun…they are “only” eating 900 calories… etc…
Well, the simple answer is that their nutrition is simply off and they don't realize it. Finding a proper balance can be overwhelming! Add to to that unchartered territories from which they are not familiar with and that task becomes quickly unsurmountable.
Nutrition is the most overlooked part of fitness but it is the most important. Follow a nutrition plan, a USEFUL and SUSTAINABLE nutrition plan, if you want to see results.
2. Proper form
Do not perform a particular exercise if you are even remotely unsure about the correct form. Never ever drop form for the sake of lifting heavier weight (ego lifts). You only have one spine. Remember that, very important.
Wrong form can easily lead to many types of injuries, from minor strains and sprains to one needing months of rehab.
3. Sleep
Sleep, together with nutrition, is vital for muscle recovery and growth.
4. Dedication
You will not master fitness overnight. You can't expect to become ripped or built in several months. Do not get discouraged if you don't see big results immediately. I have written many blogs about this and today’s “influencers.” Dedicate yourself to training, overcome challenges and always push yourself. You are your biggest competition. Be true to yourself and uncompromising.
You will be amazed what your body is capable of.
