Be a strong finisher to what you started.
Ask yourself truly : What’s my rush? Have I set realistic goals in realistic time frames? Are my goals solid and attainable? Do I have a strategic well laid plan in place to reach my goals?
But one of the most important questions we need to ask ourselves is our why.
Why are you looking for change? Really dig deep here. Not just the easy superficial “I wanna look better” - sure!! That’s pretty common, will get your started and get that ball rolling. However, as things get hard and time passes our minds tend to wander. This is where we begin to lose focus and tend to convince ourselves that that “I wanna look better” wasn’t so important.
Think long-term. Not short term.
Think of your health as you age.
Think of your children and the example you are setting (if you are parents).
Think of your future grandchildren.
Think of retirement and spending a long healthy remainder of your lives with the love of your life...
There really is no “end date”; Simply goal shifts.
Maybe you started out wanting to lose body fat, achieved that so now you want to learn to maintain what you have worked so hard for. Goal shift.
It is so important to see your commitment through to your desired goal. Through obstacles, through challenges, through frustrations, through imperfections.
You have to be a FINISHER and a CONTINUER.
I have seen so many people never reach their goal. They’re trying to run at the wrong speed for the wrong race. Gassing out on unsustainability, and compromising too much when obstacles show up to challenge them.
Understand that your journey to your goals is not likely to be exactly as you thought it would be. Commit to finishing what you started. No matter what.
Make your health a top priority. This isn’t a selfish decision in anyway at all. In fact, quite the opposite!
